Michael
began University at the University of Leeds in September 2007, and one
of his first missions when he arrived was to join the largest student
radio station in the country, that just so happened to be based in
Leeds. Convenient!
And so in October 2007, having been given a slot on Saturday Mornings,
The Saturday Morning Show was born.
Originally, the show was to be a solo project but Michael's housemate Matt and travel partner Alana soon joined him and formed a brilliant team without whom the show would never have been any good!

Running Order (roughly!):
10:00: The Big Open
Welcome to the show, introduction of whoever's present and ramble about the goings on of the week.
10:15: Connect4
The jingles say '4 Songs in a row, but can you guess the connection?'. That's pretty much the feature except the songs are rarely in a row.
10:30: The Wall of Topics
The next half hour is spent covering all the important topics of the day, reading the emails, that sort of thing...
11:00 The Saturday Morning Show ALBUM CHART
Matt takes a quick look at the top five albums of the week. Surprisingly similar to the album chart according to Radio 1.
11:10 Beat the Intro
The most energetic and anarchic feature of the show. Michael plays a song from the beginning and everyone in the studio has to guess what it is. First to get it gets a point. Genius! Call in and play if you like!
11:30 The Last Thirty
The show is usually in full flow by this point with all sorts of random stuff. If we have guests or are short of material a game of 'Celebrity Two Word Tango' will make an appearance which sees everyone in the studio racing to name celebrities. Radio gold.
11:50 The Saturday Show Spectacular are Up Next...
Time to throw to the people after us. The hosts of the next show pop in for a wee chat and we quite often make up a game on the spot. Sometimes no-too successfully. Radio Naughts and Crosses was an especially random and unsuccessful one. We also shoehorn in a plug for the facebook page and the podcast etc.

Other Gimmicks:
Sound Effect Remixes:
Michael regularly tries to mix sound effects into your favourite tracks. It usually doesn't work but Fedde le Grand works quite well
Comedy Voiceovers:
Our friendly voiceover guy Jono jocks the vocal on records with some bizarre and mildly amusing liners.
Celeb Spotting With Matt Small
We have yet to do this properly. The idea is that when there's a tourbus outside Matt will go and get us an interview. It will work one day... it will!
LSR Office Olympics
A somewhat unsuccessful feature involving on-air sport in the office beside the studio. It was the most successful of the failed feature. Another was a Jeremy Kyle based feature called 'My Boyfriend had an Affair with My Dog'... don't ask!
