Goodmayes Hospital Radio

Michael took over the website for The Jumbo Sound two years ago when it was a largely out-of-date site, that was entirely statically coded. Michael wanted to make the site far more interactive, with real-time 'Now Playing' data, presenter info, webcams and studio interactivity.

Now in it's second iteration the site combines a clean, clear and easy to navigate design with a complex database-driven structure. The player is written using AJAX frames to switch between 'Now Playing' data, the webcams and a studio-contact form.

Members' Area

The website's backend comprises of a system whereby members can contact the entire membership or the committee. It includes a file server for sharing data, and a database whereby Presenters can book into the schedule. This then feeds into the main site to generate the 'On-air-now' data.

Web Player

The player uses Ajax to switch content without restarting the stream. The interface incorporates both studio webcams, now playing data, and icon for the show currently on air and a promo message for another show.
